Tulsa Public Schools will be CLOSED tomorrow, Monday, Jan. 30. This closure includes all schools and all district office sites.
We have continued to work with the National Weather Service and Tulsa Area Emergency Management Agency to monitor weather conditions for this week. Our school district spans 174 square miles, and approximately half of our district is in areas where ice remains on the roads, sidewalks, and parking lots, making conditions difficult for travel.
Based on the most current information available:
- All SCHOOLS will be CLOSED tomorrow, Thursday, Feb. 2.
- All DISTRICT OFFICE sites will be OPEN tomorrow, Thursday, Feb. 2 with a two-hour delay.
It is important to know that at this time, we do not anticipate needing to extend the school calendar due to the inclement weather days. Additionally, at this time, given the forecast, we expect schools to be open on Friday, Feb. 3 on our regular bell schedule.
Hemos continuado trabajando con el Servicio Nacional de Meteorología y la Agencia de Manejo de Emergencias del Área de Tulsa para monitorear las condiciones climáticas para esta semana. Nuestro distrito escolar abarca 174 millas cuadradas, y aproximadamente la mitad de nuestro distrito se encuentra en áreas donde aún queda hielo en las pistas, aceras y estacionamientos, dificultando las condiciones para el transporte.
En base a las condiciones actuales que tenemos disponibles:
- Todas las ESCUELAS estarán CERRADAS mañana, jueves 2 de febrero
- Todas las OFICINAS DEL DISTRITO ABRIRÁN mañana, jueves 2 de febrero con un retraso de dos horas.
Es importante que sepan que, en estos momentos, no anticipamos la necesidad de extender el calendario escolar debido a los días de cierre de escuelas por inclemencias del clima. Adicionalmente, basados en el pronóstico del clima, en estos momentos anticipamos que nuestras escuelas estarán abiertas el viernes 3 de febrero, en el horario regular.
