Important Update

On March 25, the Oklahoma State Board of Education voted to approve State Superintendent Joy Hofmeister’s recommendation to implement a continuous learning plan without reopening school buildings. This means that while instruction of students will resume remotely on April 6, school buildings will NOT reopen this school year. We are working to prepare to resume teaching and learning on April 6 in order to ensure a strong, although nontraditional, conclusion for our school year. We will be in touch with families soon to share more information.

Notes from the principal

Dear Students, Parents, and Community Members:

Until we begin our digital learning, I wanted to share with you some resources that you might find useful. Coursera offers free online classes for people. These classes provide the individual to work at their own pace on a topic of interest.  I thought I would pass these onto you.  We will be reaching out to you in the next week about digital instruction.

I wish the best for you and your family. Please keep safe.  I really miss my daily interactions with you all!!

Ms. Dennis

Dear Class of 2020:

We know you have lots of questions regarding graduations and senior activities.  Please understand that right now, our main priority is to make sure everyone is practicing social distancing and staying safe as we do our part in stemming the spread of COVID-19.  The situation is very fluid right now and ever-changing, and we will keep you up to date with new information as it becomes available.

As you may know, the Oklahoma State Board of Education voted on Wednesday, March 25, 2020, to close all Oklahoma schools through June. As a result, all Tulsa Public School activities, including prom, commencement ceremonies, and other planned events, are postponed.  We know senior activities are incredibly talented and we are working diligently to make sure we are able to provide opportunities for students and families to have these experiences when we are able to do so.

To help us stay in contact with you and to give you access to the most up to date, we have created a Senior 2020 page on the Tulsa Public Schools website. The site will have an FAQ that will be updated regularly along with other important information for the Class of 2020. Please check that site regularly to stay informed and also to submit any questions you may have.

For now, please stay home, stay safe, and stay tuned for more information as it becomes available.

We miss you tremendously!  Please be safe!

Nicolette (Nikki) Dennis, Principal

Erica Walker, Senior Counselor
